Amanda L. In 2019, Pohl was the Democratic nominee for Virginia State Senate in District 11, where she championed issues like access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunity. Her race drew national attention and she was one of a handful of candidates in Virginia who earned the endorsement of former President Barack Obama. In 2023, she brought her passion for public service to her campaign for Chesterfield County Clerk of Court, running on a platform of modernizing services and increasing accessibility. In under one year, Pohl significantly improved the Chesterfield Circuit Court Clerk’s services, created a healthy work environment that has attracted highly skilled employees, and simplified processes for one of the busiest circuit court clerk’s offices in Virginia.
